A dynamic Saudi city pleasant to live in

The Corniche

Jeddah, initially built on the bay, later expanded along the Red Sea shore, creating a seafront that has become the beating heart of Jeddah’s social life, known as the Corniche.

The Jeddah Corniche, divided into the southern, central, and northern sections, stretches almost 110 kilometers. It features international hotels, restaurants, amusement parks, fishing spots, picnic areas, a science museum, and mosques. The iconic King Fahad Fountain, also known as the Jeddah Fountain, is a prominent landmark here.

Southern Corniche: This area boasts beautiful monuments and memorable objects, including 26 bronze sculptures by world-famous artists in front of Al-Hamra beach. It also has restaurants, hotels, fast-food chains, and Al-Hamra Mall. Special areas for horse riding, bicycling, and motorcycling are set up here.

Central Corniche: The design of the Corniche adds an artistic touch with sculptures and artwork at roundabouts and streets. The Hassan Enany Mosque, located near Palestine Street, is a prominent mosque built in 1984 with a capacity of 1,200 worshippers.

Northern Corniche: Extending from the Coast Guard building to Fatima Al-Zahra Mosque, also known as the floating mosque, this area features three routes that create artificial lakes along the roads and stretch toward the sea. The floating mosque appears to be floating in the water at high tide.

The Corniche is lined with numerous facilities and services, including playgrounds, amusement parks, lush landscapes, and spacious paved areas. Families can enjoy shaded seating, walking, and jogging areas with ocean views.

King Fahad Fountain

King Fahad Fountain, the tallest of its kind in the world, was donated to Jeddah by King Fahad. It jets water from the Red Sea up to 312 meters above the surface, reaching speeds of 375 kilometers per hour. The fountain’s powerful jet is visible throughout Jeddah and is illuminated by 500 spotlights at night.

Jeddah Tower

Jeddah’s fame is set to go global with the ongoing Jeddah Tower project. Designed by American architect Adrian Smith, who also designed Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tower will reach 1,001 meters, surpassing Burj Khalifa by over 170 meters. It will feature unique structural and aesthetic elements, including an outdoor sky terrace overlooking the Red Sea with an area of over 697 square meters. Construction began on April 1, 2013, and is expected to be completed in 2020. The project is led by Saudi Arabian Prince Waleed bin Talal and will be the centerpiece of the Jeddah Economic City development.
